Udupi: A two-wheeler rider was seriously injured in a road accident that occurred on National Highway 169(A) in front of MGM College in the city on Thursday (Feb. 12) afternoon.

The injured rider has been identified as Gopal Sagri.

According to reports, Gopal was travelling towards Manipal on his bike when another biker suddenly entered the road near the divider close to MGM College in a negligent manner. As a result, Gopal lost control of his vehicle and fell onto the road. At that moment, a pickup vehicle coming from behind at high speed ran over him.

Gopal sustained severe injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted to a local hospital by ambulance. Hundreds of people gathered at the accident spot, leading to temporary traffic disruption on the national highway.
