The Li Ka Shing Foundation is partnering with Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to give 5,000 domestic helpers free trips to the theme park as a gesture of appreciation for their contributions to local families.

The charity set up by Hong Kong’s richest billionaire Li Ka-shing, said on Tuesday it would increase the number of participants from 4,000 last year to 5,000. It will also invite foreign workers from Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Thailand, South China Morning Post said.

The visits are scheduled for March 29 and April 12.

Each participant will receive a one-day ticket to Hong Kong Disneyland on Lantau Island, meal vouchers covering two full meals and a snack, and an Octopus card for transportation to and from the resort. The total package is valued at more than HK$1,000 (US$128), according to local news outlet The Standard.

“As a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to the city’s hardworking foreign domestic workers, the 2026 programme will feature even greater cultural diversity and an expanded number of participants, spreading warmth and appreciation across different communities,” the foundation said.

Tickets will be given out through three non-profit groups: the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union, Bethune House and Christian Action.

Last year, each person was given a one-day ticket, HK$80 on their Octopus card for travel and meal vouchers worth HK$365.
