Drivers have been told to avoid an area of Wales near a popular beauty spot as a section of the A470 is closed in both directions. Police have closed the road following a crash near the Llwyn-on Reservoir north of Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday afternoon. Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: "A470 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from the A4054 (Merthyr Tydfil) to the A4059 (Nant-ddu)."

Diversion routes are in place as emergency services deal with the incident. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "We're at the scene of a collision on Llwyn-on Reservoir Road, Llwyn-on, Merthyr Tydfil. "Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Thank you for your patience."
