The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education's high school and intermediate examinations are now near. As the exam dates approach, students' anxiety is growing, especially those who have chosen English. They are unsure about how to prepare in the final days and how to score high marks.
Pratibha Rakesh, English lecturer at Arya Kanya Inter College, has shared important tips for students.
Focus on short answers, and read the long answer summary.
Pratibha Rakesh says that instead of memorizing long answers, students should prepare thoroughly for short answers. Prepare thoroughly for all the short questions in English. Instead of memorizing the entire content of the long answers, understand their summary. If the short answers are well prepared, the long answer can be easily written based on them.
Write accurate answers in unseen passages.
Avoid writing irrelevant information while solving unseen passages. Always give accurate and to-the-point answers. Write only as much as the question asks. This will save time and result in better marks.
Pay Attention to Handwriting and Meaning
Clear handwriting and correct word meaning are crucial in the English exam. Clear and understandable answers will have a positive impact on the examiner and increase your chances of getting better marks.
Solve Questions in Order
Pratibha Rakesh also advised to always solve the question paper in order. Many students solve questions numbered 10 or 12 first and then the initial questions later, which is the wrong approach. First, solve questions 1 to 12 or 13 in order. Leave the question unanswered and return to the answer sheet at the end. This makes the answer sheet look organized and makes a positive impression on the examiner.
Don't Panic, Adopt a Smart Strategy
In the final days, it is more important to adopt a smart strategy rather than panicking. Strong preparation for short answers, understanding of summary, clear handwriting, and sequential answers; these small steps can play a big role in getting good marks in English.
