Amber Glenn has spoken out about her deeply disappointing experience at the Winter Olympics, where she scored zero points for an infraction despite delivering what many considered to be a flawless performance. Glenn had been aiming for another medal in the women's singles and successfully executed a triple axel before attempting a triple loop and completing a double.

However, she stumbled out of her triple loop, which was classified as an "invalid element" infraction. This meant she scored a zero instead of a seven, effectively dashing her hopes of securing a medal. Glenn was visibly distraught, unable to contain her emotions, as she wept upon hearing the results of her error.

"I don't know what happened, I had it," a tearful Glenn was heard saying just before leaving the ice. She remained silent after her performance, only sharing her feelings later that evening on social media.

On Instagram, Glenn posted a quote alongside a picture of a smiling dog. The quote read: "The world has ended for me many times, and yet tomorrow still comes. Keep going."

Glenn still has cause to celebrate in Italy, having already claimed gold with Team USA in the team competition last week.

During an interview with NBC Sports, Glenn was presented with a video message from Madonna, becoming visibly moved upon realising the message had been directed at her.

Madonna said in the video: "Amber Glenn, I just watched you skate to my song, 'Like a Prayer.' I have to tell you, I was blown away by it.

"You are an incredible skater. So strong, so beautiful, so brave. I can't imagine that you would not win. So I just want to say good luck. Go get that gold."

In her response, Glenn said: "Sorry, I'm in shock. I'm in complete shock. Oh my God! I'm legitimately shaking."

Glenn will take to the ice again on Thursday for the free skate, where she is expected to address the incident.
