A significant controversy has emerged in Madhya Pradesh following allegations that a Class 10 English board exam question paper was shared on social media shortly after the exam commenced. This incident, which took place in Burhanpur district, has resulted in the suspension of a female teacher and disciplinary measures against officials at the examination center. Authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the matter.

Outrage Following Alleged WhatsApp Status Post

District officials reported that the incident occurred during the ongoing Class 10 board examinations organized by the state's secondary education board. A teacher named Rajkumari Soni, who was supervising the exam at a government higher secondary school in Tukaithed, is accused of taking a photo of the English question paper and posting it on her WhatsApp status.

The image reportedly surfaced online around 9:06 am, shortly after the examination began, raising immediate concerns among administrators as screenshots of the alleged status began to circulate.

Investigation into Allegations of Cheating Assistance

Initial reports indicate that the teacher may have taken a photograph of the question paper that was on the desk of an absent student. Authorities are looking into claims that the image was not only posted as a status update but might have also been forwarded to someone outside the examination center. Officials suspect that the intent was to obtain answers that could be shared with students inside the examination hall.

However, district authorities have asserted that the examination process itself was not compromised, and there is currently no evidence of a widespread paper leak prior to the scheduled exam time.

Clarification from Administration on Paper Leak

Local administration has clarified that the question paper was not leaked before the examination. Officials stated that students were allowed entry into the center before 8:40 am, and the exam commenced as planned. The image of the paper only appeared online after the test had already started.

Authorities emphasized that the integrity of the board examination system remains intact, and appropriate actions have been taken to ensure accountability. Further investigations will determine if any students gained an unfair advantage from the alleged incident.

Suspension of Teacher and Legal Action Initiated

The teacher in question has been suspended for allegedly breaching the confidentiality rules governing board examinations. A formal case has been filed under the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examination Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Superintendent of Police Devendra Kumar Patidar confirmed that law enforcement is examining all aspects of the case, stating, “We are thoroughly investigating the matter, considering every possible angle.”

Disciplinary Measures Against Examination Centre Officials

In addition to the teacher's suspension, the head of the examination center, Jitendra Kumar Kulkarni, and assistant center head Anita Dixit have also been suspended. This decision was made by the Indore Division Commissioner (Revenue) Dr. Sudam Khade based on a preliminary inquiry report from the district administration.

These officials have been accused of serious negligence in their supervisory roles. Authorities have reiterated that maintaining the confidentiality of board examinations is a collective responsibility of all personnel involved.

Concerns Raised Over Examination Security

This incident has reignited discussions about digital conduct and the influence of social media during critical public examinations. Education experts warn that even isolated breaches can undermine public confidence in the examination system.

State authorities have promised to enhance monitoring and enforce stricter examination guidelines to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

As the investigation progresses, officials have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information on social media, emphasizing that decisive action will be taken against anyone found guilty of compromising the integrity of the board examination process.

The case remains under active review, with further developments anticipated following the official inquiry.
