New Delhi: In today’s lifestyle, the effect of dust, pollution and stress is clearly visible on our skin. If you want to get started with skin care, it is important to know that what is needed is a proper and regular routine rather than expensive products.
Taking care of skin is not a difficult task. The most important thing is to understand your skin type and take basic steps accordingly. A typical skin care routine can be divided into two parts – morning (AM) and night (PM). Let us know what should be the day and night skin care routine for beginners.
Morning routine is extremely important to keep the skin hydrated and protected from the harmful rays of the sun.
After waking up in the morning, first of all wash your face with a mild face wash. This removes excess oil and sweat accumulated overnight and makes the skin feel fresh.
It is necessary to moisturize the skin after washing the face. Apply a light moisturizer according to your skin type – oily, dry or combination. It maintains moisture in the skin and makes it soft.
This is the most important step. Whether at home or outside, don’t forget to apply sunscreen. It protects the skin from premature aging, wrinkles and tanning. Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
Night is the time for skin repair and recovery. Therefore, night routine should not be ignored.
If you have applied makeup or sunscreen during the day, it is essential to remove it thoroughly. First clean the face with cleansing milk or oil, then wash again with face wash.
People with oily skin can use toner. It balances the pH level of the skin and helps in keeping the pores clean.
If there is a problem like dark circles or acne, apply the respective treatment product or eye cream at night.
At night the skin needs deep moisture and nourishment. Choose a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid or ceramides, so skin can repair itself overnight.
Before applying any new product directly on the face, test it on your hands for 24 hours, so that any kind of allergy or irritation can be detected.
It takes at least 4 to 6 weeks to see the effect of skin care. So don’t expect instant results.
Along with external care, it is also necessary to keep the body hydrated from inside. Drink adequate amount of water throughout the day.
Do not buy products without knowing your skin type. If your skin is extremely sensitive, be sure to consult an expert.
