If you buy any new item these days, it all has a sticker or a price tag on it, after removing which the sticky glue left behind is really irritating and it also looks very bad. But the good thing is that there is no need of expensive products to remove it, the work can be done with the things present in the house. Below are some easy and effective home remedies, by which you can get rid of this problem.

hot water and soap

What is better for – Glass, Plastic, Steel Take hot water in a bowl and add a little dish wash liquid to it. Soak the sticker area for 10–15 minutes (or place a wet cloth). Then clean it by rubbing with a sponge or cloth. This is the easiest method for light glue.

Cooking oil (mustard/coconut/refined)

For whom it is better: Apply a little oil on plastic, wood, glass glued area and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Then clean it by rubbing with a dry cloth. Finally wash with soap water. The oil loosens the glue.

lemon or vinegar

What is better for- glass, tiles, metal. Apply lemon juice or white vinegar on the glue. Rub with a cloth after 10 minutes. This is a natural and chemical-free method.

baking soda + oil

Make a paste by mixing baking soda and some oil. Apply it on the gum and leave it for 5-10 minutes. Then rub lightly. Effective solution for stubborn gum.

use of hair dryer

What is best for – walls, furniture, electronic items (carefully) blow hot air with a hair dryer on the sticker for 30–60 seconds. The glue will soften and come off easily. Do not expose electronic items to excessive heat.

rubbing alcohol or sanitizer

What is better for – glass, plastic, metal. Take some alcohol in cotton and rub it on the glue. The stickiness will go away within a few minutes.

things to keep in mind

  1. Do not use sharp or sharp objects (knives, blades), this may damage the surface.
  2. Test on a corner first, preferably on a wooden or painted surface.
  3. Use liquids sparingly on electronic items.
