Wedding season just found its new style muse, and it’s all thanks to Shikhar Dhawan and his fiancée, Sophie Shine. With the big day around the corner, Sophie is already giving future brides plenty to screenshot and save.
On February 20, she shared a bunch of happy, behind-the-scenes moments from what seemed like a haldi ceremony on Instagram. There was laughter, colour, and that easy pre-wedding glow - but let’s be honest, all eyes were on her outfit.
Sophie chose a gorgeous red-and-gold lehenga by Rimple & Harpreet Narula, and it ticked all the classic bridal boxes. The halter-neck choli was covered in detailed embroidery, and the lehenga had tiny gold buttis scattered all over with a bold, heavy border. It felt festive and rich, but not over the top. Very much “bride energy,” without trying too hard.
She paired it with traditional gold kaleeras that swayed from her wrists and a maang tikka that framed her face beautifully. The jewellery made a statement, but it didn’t steal the show. Everything felt balanced 0 which is exactly the sweet spot most modern brides are aiming for these days.
Her makeup and hair deserve a moment too. Instead of going dramatic, she kept things soft and fresh. Loose waves, glowing skin, subtle makeup, and a tiny red bindi - that was it. The simplicity worked so well against the detailed lehenga. It’s a reminder that you don’t always need layers of glam to look bridal. Sometimes, keeping it easy does the trick.
The pictures also showed some adorable candid moments. In one shot, Sophie is laughing next to Dhawan, who wore a mustard Nehru jacket with a white kurta-pyjama - simple, sharp, and perfect for a haldi. Together, they looked relaxed and genuinely happy, which honestly made the whole vibe even better.
And this was just one event. A few days earlier, she reportedly wore a shimmery metallic lehenga for the sangeet and went full glam for the dance-filled night. So yes, she’s clearly mixing things up - from traditional red to modern sparkle.
With the wedding expected any day now, the excitement is real. If the pre-wedding looks are anything to go by, the main event outfit is going to be worth the wait.
