Jamia Millia Islamia has announced the online admission process for the 2026-27 academic session. The university has also released the admission prospectus. The online application process for various courses has also begun. This news is considered very important for students from India and abroad.
Jamia Millia Islamia has brought many new opportunities for students this year. A total of 30 new courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, advanced diploma, PG diploma, certificate, and diploma levels are being introduced from the new session. The university administration states that the aim of these new courses is to connect students with better education and employment opportunities in line with the changing times.
Vice Chancellor Releases Prospectus
On Friday, University Vice Chancellor Professor Mazhar Asif officially released the prospectus for admissions. On this occasion, he stated that Jamia is advancing the education system in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020. Under this, the four-year undergraduate program is offering a multiple entry modes, providing students with greater flexibility in their studies.
Entrance Exam to be Held in 11 Cities Across the Country
This year, Jamia's entrance exam will be held in 11 cities across the country. Significantly, three new exam centers have been added: Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishangarh. Previously, the exam was held in Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal. The addition of new centers will allow students to take the exam in a city near them.
Relief for Foreign Students, Fee Reduction
To attract foreign students, the university has taken a significant decision. The fees for foreign students under the general and supernumerary seat categories have been reduced. Additionally, for students from SAARC countries, West Asian countries, African and Latin American countries, a regionally specific fee structure has been established. This is expected to provide significant relief to students coming from abroad.
Simplified Application Process
The Jamia administration has attempted to simplify the application process for students. Admissions for different courses have been divided into four categories. This will make it easier for students to understand how to apply for each course and which dates are important for them.
Learn about the new courses
The 30 new programs being introduced this year include several special courses. These include BA Honors Japanese Studies, BA Honors German Studies, BA Honors Human Resource Management, LLM Corporate Law, BE Civil Engineering Evening, MA Social Work, and MSc Botany. The university has clarified that there has been no increase in fees for these new courses.
Entrance Exam and Merit-Based Admissions
Online applications for courses based on entrance exams will be accepted until March 25th. For programs based on JEE Main, NATA, BPT, NEET, NCET, and CUET merit, applications will be accepted from February 20th until 10 days after the respective examination agency declares the results.
Benefits of Multiple Entry Mode
Online applications for programs with vacant seats under the Multiple Entry Mode will be accepted from February 20th to April 10th. This arrangement will be beneficial for students who were unable to enroll earlier due to some reason.
