Often, money continues to be deducted even after deleting the app. Learn how you can quickly stop unnecessary expenses by checking your AutoPay list.

UPI AutoPay is a technology that simplifies your recurring payments (such as recharges, bills, or OTT). Once you grant permission, money is automatically deducted from your bank account on the scheduled date. This feature was specifically designed for those who forget to pay their bills.

Where do we go wrong?

We often set up auto-payments to get a 'free trial' of an app. After the trial ends, we stop using the app but forget to cancel the payment. The result is that money is silently deducted every month, and we don't even notice for months. Simply deleting the app won't stop the deductions. You have to manually delete that mandate.

How to check your AutoPay list?

If you want to know where money is being auto-debited from your bank account, you can easily see it in your UPI app (like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm). Here's the example of PhonePe.

• Open the app and click on your profile photo.
• Find the Payment Settings or AutoPay option at the bottom.
• Here you'll find a list of all the apps you've allowed to deduct money.

How to stop unnecessary payments?

• After viewing the list, you have two main options:
• If you want to stop payments temporarily.
• If you never want to use that service again, select Remove/Delete to permanently disable it.
