
Team India has made a strong start on the Australia tour and won the T20 series. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian team defeated host Australia by 17 runs in the third and last match of the series. With this, Team India won the series 2-1 and ended the 10-year long wait. Earlier, the Indian women's team had won the T20 series against Australia in 2016. The stars of this victory were vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and young spinner Shreyanka Patil.
In this match played in Adelaide on Saturday 21st February, Team India batted first. The Indian team did not have a good start and opener Shefali Verma was out in the third over itself. But after this Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues took over the innings and made an excellent partnership of 121 runs. During this, Mandhana played a strong inning of 82 runs in just 55 balls. Jemima also scored a half-century and took the team to a strong score of 176 runs. Annabel Sutherland took maximum 2 wickets for Australia.
