IMD warns of heavy rain and strong wind in 10 states of the country

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm and strong winds in 10 states of the country from 22 to 24 February. Due to this, cold may increase in North India and difficulties may also increase in hilly areas.

Weather Update: While the cold is in its last phase in the month of February in the country, the India Meteorological Department has once again issued a warning of heavy rain for 10 states. This time there is a possibility of storm along with rain, whose speed can be up to 55 kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of drop in temperature due to strong wind gust, along with this a warning of lightning and thunder has also been issued. During this period, people have been appealed to be cautious.

Rain alert in 10 states

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in these states:

    • Jammu and Kashmir

 

    • Uttarakhand

 

    • Himachal Pradesh

 

    • Chhattisgarh

 

    • Odisha

 

    • Maharashtra

 

    • Tamil Nadu

 

    • Kerala

 

    • Karnataka

 

    • Telangana

 

There will be rain in some districts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on 22 and 23 February. There is a possibility of rain and strong winds in Uttarakhand from 22 to 24 February. Wind speed in these areas can reach 40-55 kilometers per hour.

Warning for eastern and southern India

There is a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm in Chhattisgarh and Odisha in eastern India on 23 and 24 February. Fishermen and people living in coastal areas have been advised to stay away from the sea. There is an alert of thunder and heavy rain in many districts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in South India. The affected districts include Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar and Theni.

    • Delhi: The weather will be clear on 22 February. The maximum temperature will be 28°C and the minimum will be 14°C. There will be light fog and cold in the morning and evening.

 

    • Uttar Pradesh: Weather will remain dry, but there is an alert of moderate to dense fog in eastern UP. The maximum temperature in Kanpur and Lucknow will be 29°C, minimum 15°C.

 

    • Bihar: Fog and cold will persist in most of the districts. The maximum temperature in Patna will be 29°C and minimum 16°C.

 

    • Uttarakhand: Alert of rain and strong winds till 22-24 February. The affected districts include North Kashi, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Almora and Nainital. The maximum temperature in Dehradun will be 21°C and minimum 11°C.

 

    • Himachal Pradesh: Rain alert in Shimla, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Solan. There is a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches of Manali.

 

Jammu and Kashmir and Central India

    • Jammu and Kashmir: There will be rain in Srinagar, Jammu, Banihal, Doda, Ramban, Kupwara, Kulgam, Pahalgam, Shopian and Bandipora districts on 22-23 February.

 

    • Madhya Pradesh: Rain is expected for the next 3 days in Bhopal, Ratlam, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Katni, Neemuch, Khandwa, Khargone and Seoni. The maximum temperature in Bhopal will be 31°C and minimum 17°C.

 

    • Rajasthan: Temperature will increase in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Barmer, Alwar, Jaisalmer and Udaipur. The maximum temperature in Jaipur will be 28°C and minimum 16°C.

 

There is a warning of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in Tamil Nadu and Kerala from 22 February. People living in sensitive and low-lying areas have been advised to remain alert. The maximum temperature in Chennai is expected to be 29°C and minimum 23°C.
