Big action by Ujjain Municipal Corporation, 1.5 lakh banned disposable glasses and bowls seized from a house, fine of Rs 5000 also imposed

Ujjain Municipal Corporation took a major action on Saturday as part of the ongoing campaign against single-use plastic and non-standard polythene in the city. The team of the Health Department of the Corporation raided a house in Bilotipura area and seized a cache of banned disposable material worth about one and a half lakh rupees. This is one of the biggest actions taken in recent times under this campaign.

This action was taken under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Sanjesh Gupta in Bilotipura area of ​​Zone Number-1. The Corporation had received information that a huge quantity of banned plastic glasses, bowls, spoons and other disposable materials had been stored at the residence of a person named Vinayak Chaurasia.

The entire stock was kept in the house

Based on information, when health officer Harish Vyas and sanitation inspector Ajay Daware reached the spot with their team, a large number of non-standard disposal items were found there. The corporation team seized all the material from the spot. According to officials, this material falls in the completely banned category and its use is harmful to the environment. The seized material is currently kept safe in MR-5 Centre.

Challan of Rs 5,000 issued

The Municipal Corporation has also issued a fine of ₹ 5000 against the person concerned for violating the rules. Deputy Commissioner Sanjesh Gupta confirmed this action and said that this campaign will continue strictly.

Corporation officials say that storage and sale of banned plastic or disposable plastic will not be tolerated at any level in the city and such surprise inspection operations will continue in future also.
