The contemporary performance piece Dream of an Elsewhere premiered in Kolkata as part of the SappTop Series, Session VI, offering audiences an immersive exploration of movement, sound and perception. Created by French choreographer Michel Casanovas and Swiss musician Eveline Noth, the work challenged conventional ideas of dance, performance and the performing body.
By deliberately blurring the boundaries between movement and stillness, dance and non-dance, music and silence, the performance evolved into a shared conversation rather than a traditional collaboration. Roles between dancer and musician were fluid, while audiences were invited to renegotiate their gaze—at times asked to close their eyes or change seats—becoming active participants in the experience.

The showcase followed a ten-day residency at Sapphire, which included visits with international teachers to Tepantor Theatre Village and Santiniketan. Eight participants from Sapphire—Ankita Duttagupta, Promita Karfa, Avirupa Das, Soma Chattapdhyay, Abrar Saqeeb, Raju Sarkar, Bijoy Sharma and Oushnik Halder—were part of the residency.
