BBC's Great British Menu is set to grace our screens once again.

The 21st series of the BBC Two programme launches tonight (Tuesday, February 24), featuring 32 chefs from across the UK battling it out in eight regional heats. The theme for 2026 is a tribute to British cinema, with dishes inspired by legendary films, directors, and actors.

Host Andi Oliver is back, joined by judges Tom Kerridge, Lorna McNee and newcomer Phil Wang. Some viewers may not realise that the presenter has a famous offspring.

Miquita Oliver, born on April 25 1984, is the child of chef, broadcaster and Rip Rig and Panic vocalist Andi and history teacher Robin Baillie.

Growing up in the limelight due to her mother's success and having Casualty actress Amanda Mealing as her godmother, Miquita had an eventful childhood.

Discussing raising her daughter whilst maintaining her career, Andi previously told Good Housekeeping: "I just got on with it!".

"I didn't have a nine-to-five job, ever, so she came with me and when we did a gig, someone would stand at the side of the stage holding her."

During an appearance on the Good Food podcast with her mother, Miquita reflected on her upbringing, saying: "It's a beautiful thing because I had a childhood full of abundance even though we didn't have any money.

"It's not just about feeding your kids, it's about creating a world where you don't feel like you're lacking."

Miquita landed a role as a presenter on Popworld alongside Simon Amstell from 2001 to 2006, and also hosted Channel 4's T4 from 2006 to 2010.

Following her mother's lead, she has also ventured into radio presenting, featuring on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra as a stand-in host.

Miquita has fronted her own programmes, including Young, British and Broke: The Truth about Payday Loans, where she shared her personal experiences with bankruptcy.

Andi has been a pillar of support for her daughter's pursuits, once stating: "I just wanted Miquita to do things that made her happy and I've said that to her all her life. She was on TV by the time she was 15, and that was really hard for her."

The pair have frequently appeared together on screen, becoming familiar faces on Celebrity Gogglebox. In 2007, Miquita made a guest appearance on her mum's show, Neneh and Andi Dish It Up.

The mother-daughter team also presented their own travel series, The Caribbean with Andi and Miquita, in which Andi delved into her Antiguan roots. They also collaborated on the podcast Stirring It Up.

In an interview with Vogue discussing their close relationship, Andi revealed: "I was on my own with Miquita for the first 10 years of her life, which creates an unshakeable bond. We were a poor, single-parent family who relied on each other every day.

"Even when she was little, we had an emotional infrastructure or framework we provided each other with to ensure we got through it together."

Andi encountered her partner Garfield Hacknett during her tenure at a Shoreditch, London bar. He was a music manager and their mutual passion for cuisine brought them together.

In her book The Pepperpot Diaries, Andi portrays him as "the kindest man I know and my partner in life and all things".

Great British Menu returns Tuesday. February 24 on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer at 7pm
