Varanasi. UP Congress has made a big announcement on Tuesday in support of Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth in Varanasi. The dictatorship of the government has now reached the saints. The ill-treatment meted out to Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand ji of Jyotishpeeth and his disciples is an insult to the Sanatan tradition. On the call of State President Ajay Rai, Congress will protest against this atrocities on 25th February in every district of Uttar Pradesh and submit a memorandum to the District Magistrate. The real face of those who wear the cloak of religion has now been revealed to everyone.
State Congress President Ajay Rai along with party workers today reached Shri Vidyamath in Varanasi and met Shankaracharya. During this, he termed the recently filed case against Shankaracharya as a political conspiracy and an insult to Sanatan tradition. After the meeting, Ajay Rai announced that Congress fully stands with Shankaracharya. He said that this matter is to the sentiments of Sanatan Dharma and the government is trying to put pressure on the saints. Ajay Rai has demanded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct an impartial investigation into this matter.
Making a big announcement, the State Congress President said that on Wednesday, Congress workers will take to the streets in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. They will hold a peaceful protest and submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Modi. The memorandum will demand an independent, impartial and transparent investigation into the FIR lodged against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda.
FIR has been registered on the orders of the court
This controversy is to Shankaracharya being stopped from bathing in the Ganga during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj and later an FIR was registered against him on charges of sexual exploitation. A case has been registered in Jhunsi police station on the orders of the special POCSO court of Prayagraj. Shankaracharya has called these allegations baseless and a political conspiracy, while the opposition parties are considering it as an insult to the saints on the part of the government.
