UPSC CSE 2026 Last Date: The Union Public Service Commission's official website, upsconline.nic.It crashed on the last date for applications for the Civil Services Examination 2026. The portal was overwhelmed by a large number of candidates from across the country attempting to fill out the application form simultaneously, resulting in many being unable to apply. Consequently, the Commission has extended the deadline. Candidates can now apply until February 27, 2026. This extension also applies to the Indian Forest Service Examination 2026.

A total of 933 vacancies in various central government departments are to be filled through the Civil Services Examination 2026. The Commission had previously advised candidates not to wait for the last day, as high traffic on the server could lead to technical issues.

Glitches in the Application Process
Many candidates complained of slow login speeds and temporary access failures. The Commission's online portal is the sole means for submitting applications, completing one-time registrations (OTRs), uploading documents, and paying fees.

Candidates who did not complete the OTR were required to first register, then log in and select the CSE 2026 link. The application form must include personal, educational, and contact details, along with a photo, signature, and required documents. After fee payment, candidates are required to download the application confirmation page.

Selection Process and Eligibility
The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages:

Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Personality Test/Interview

Following the interview, selected candidates will undergo document verification and a medical examination. Success in each stage is mandatory.

Eligibility requires a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The age limit is 21 to 32 years, with relaxations for reserved category candidates as per government regulations.
