Love and War started with Sanjay Leela Bhansali bringing together Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. However, even after two years and multiple shooting schedules, the film is still not completed. So what is the problem in this awaited film of Bhansali?
Love and War is a romantic period movie, which has become one of the most expensive and longest running films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's career. With delays in shooting schedules, huge budget overruns and changes in release dates, people are now forced to wonder where the delays are coming from.
According to the report of Variety India, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Love and War' is not even close to completion yet. Many things have been involved in the shooting of this period romance film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. The shooting of this film, which was initially completed in 120 days, has been completed in approximately 175 days. However, three songs and a major dramatic scene are still left, due to which the production is being delayed by another 50 days.
According to reports, the film, made on a grand scale, took much longer than expected to film the war scenes. At the same time, Bhansali is meticulously preparing every frame and he is not compromising on grandeur in it.
According to the same report by Variety India, the initial budget of the film was Rs 350 crore, but it has now increased to around Rs 425 crore, which does not include the fees of the lead actors. According to reports, Ranbar Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt have chosen the option of profit sharing instead of fees.
Bhansali has largely financed this project himself, in which Saregama India also has a major stake. Despite the rising expenses, the filmmaker has managed to recover a good amount of money before the release, which will definitely benefit the film. According to reports, Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film for around Rs 130 crore, while music and satellite rights fetched around Rs 70-80 crore. Overall, more than Rs 200 crore has already been collected through non-theatrical channels.
