Film fans and collectors will soon get a rare chance to own some of Hollywood’s most famous props. Items from legendary movies, including Jaws and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, will go under the hammer at a major auction in Los Angeles. Organisers expect the collection to generate around $9 million in total sales.

The auction, titled the Propstore Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, will take place from March 25 to 27. It will feature more than 1,550 pieces from film and television history. The event includes props, costumes, and collectible items from classic productions such as The Terminator and Gladiator.

One of the standout items is a light-up head from the humanoid character C-3PO. The prop appeared in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Experts estimate its value between $350,000 and $700,000. Another highlight is the harpoon gun used by the characters Quint and Matt Hooper in Jaws. That prop carries an estimated price of $250,000 to $500,000. Quint’s fishing rod from the same film will also be available, with an expected value of $75,000 to $150,000.

According to Ibrahim Faraj, consignments manager at Propstore, the auction offers rare opportunities. He explained that memorabilia from Jaws does not appear on the market often. This makes the current sale especially attractive for collectors who want unique items from cinema history.

The auction also features a jacket worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator. Helmets used in Gladiator will also attract attention. Another popular item is the Marauder’s Map from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In the movie, the magical map shows the layout of Hogwarts School and tracks people moving inside it. The prop was given to Harry by the Weasley twins, Fred and George. Auctioneers estimate its value between $40,000 and $80,000.

Faraj described the Marauder’s Map as one of the most beloved props from the entire franchise. He noted that artists created the piece by hand. It contains multiple folds and intricate details. The craftsmanship required significant time and effort. Because very few versions exist, collectors consider it highly desirable.

Overall, the auction highlights the lasting cultural impact of film and television. Many of these props represent unforgettable cinematic moments. For fans, owning such items offers a direct connection to movie history.
