Tesco has launched a product recall for one of its children's craft kits after discovering it may contain traces of asbestos. The announcement came on Tuesday, February 24, with toy maker Addo Play Ltd and Tesco pulling the item from shop floors.
Shoppers have been warned to cease using the product straight away. Every batch of the Out To Impress product is being withdrawn, with customers advised to verify the item against the correct specifications.
Purchasers will also qualify for a complete refund from Tesco, regardless of whether they have their receipt. The recall statement clarified that no other Addo Play Ltd items stocked by Tesco are impacted at this stage, reports the Express.
The Out To Impress kit features sand which could have trace quantities of asbestos. In the supermarket's recall announcement, it stated: "The overall health risk is considered low, but because asbestos shouldn't be present in any amount, Addo Play Ltd are issuing a recall notice for this product."
