As reported by Variety India, Deepika was indeed approached for the series, and preliminary discussions took place. However, it has come to light that auditioning was a compulsory step in the casting process. Deepika opted out of this requirement, leading to her exit from the project.

The report indicates that the producers insisted on auditions before finalizing any actors. Deepika's reluctance to audition ultimately resulted in her decision to decline the role.

This isn't the first instance of the show reaching out to her; she was also contacted for the third season but turned it down due to her pregnancy.

Her Hollywood Debut
Despite the lack of an official statement from Deepika or her representatives regarding these rumors, her participation in the series would have marked her second international project. She made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with the film xXx: Return of Xander Cage, where she starred alongside notable actors such as Vin Diesel and Nina Dobrev.

Filming Locations for 'The White Lotus'
"The White Lotus," created by Mike White, first aired on July 11, 2021, and has garnered critical acclaim. The inaugural season was shot in Hawaii, followed by Sicily for the second season, and Thailand for the third. The fourth season is now expected to be filmed in France.

Upcoming Film 'King'
On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in the 2024 film 'Singham Again'. She made headlines last year for her comments on working long hours. Reports have also surfaced about her stepping back from projects like the sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD' and 'Spirit' due to her commitments. Currently, she is set to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 'King', which is slated for release on December 24, just in time for Christmas. Additionally, she has a film with Allu Arjun directed by Atlee, though the title remains unannounced.
