The Gujarati film Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate emerged as an unexpected success, gaining traction through positive word of mouth since its theatrical release on October 10, 2025. Following this, a Hindi-dubbed version hit the screens on January 9, 2026. Now, both iterations are set to reach an even wider audience with their upcoming debut on OTT platforms. This record-breaking film will be available for streaming on SonyLIV starting March 6. The movie, which delves into themes of faith, surrender, and personal awakening, features performances by Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami, and Karan Joshi. The streaming platform has shared the release date along with an encouraging message about the film's spiritual essence. They stated, “When faith feels fragile and hope seems far away, sometimes all you need is a reminder that you’re never alone.” The trailer showcases the gripping tale of Laalo (played by Shruhad Goswami), a struggling rickshaw driver who finds himself trapped in a secluded farmhouse while trying to earn a living. With no escape route and unable to inform his family of his plight, Laalo's situation becomes increasingly desperate.
In a twist of fate, Laalo begins to experience divine visions of Lord Krishna, prompting him to confront his deepest fears regarding his current predicament and his young wife Tulsi (Reeva Rachh) and daughter whom he left behind. Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate also explores Laalo’s personal journey towards redemption and spiritual enlightenment, which has struck a chord with viewers.
This Gujarati film demonstrated impressive week-on-week performance, making history as the first Gujarati film to surpass Rs 100 crore in earnings. It achieved this milestone in just 51 days, surpassing the previous record held by Chaal Jeevi Laiye (2019). Remarkably, during its fifth weekend, Laalo earned more than its total earnings from the first four weeks, a feat rarely seen in regional cinema.
Director Ankit Sakhiya shared that Laalo was a deeply personal project for the entire team. Their goal was to create a film that depicted devotion without being preachy, portraying faith as a source of comfort, guidance, and healing. As the OTT release approaches, Ankit expressed, “We hoped the film would touch hearts, but the love we received in theatres was far beyond anything we had imagined.” The film has had a transformative impact on everyone involved.
