Protest in Jammu Kashmir after Death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: US President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been a casualty in a major attack. This claim created an earthquake in regional politics, because now this has also been confirmed by Iranian state media. The impact of Ali Khamenei’s death is being seen in India also. Protests are taking place in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Donald Trump wrote on his social media platforms that “one of the most dangerous men in history,” Khamenei, “is dead.” Immediately after his statement, Iran’s government broadcaster IRIB announced that the country’s Supreme Leader had been martyred in this attack. Along with this, Iran’s major news agencies Tasnim News and Fars News Agency also broadcast the same information, which appears to be a legal confirmation of the news of the American and Israeli attack.
After the news of Ali Khamenei’s death, there has been a widespread reaction throughout the Middle East and its associated areas. Especially in Kashmir, where hundreds of people started protests from the centers of Shia community. According to officials, protesters marched peacefully through the streets and chanted “anti-American” and “anti-Israel” slogans. Protesters jointly expressed anger against the US and Israeli governments, calling the attack a threat to peace in the region.
Its biggest impact was seen at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Where thousands of Shia Muslims gathered at Lal Chowk and were seen carrying Khamenei’s picture and raising slogans against Israel and America.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti also reacted to the situation. He said in his social media post that Iran has been a country that has long been an important voice of the Muslim world, and its strength is its conviction, self-confidence and public support.
He said that no missile or threat can end his freedom or break his courage. Mufti also prayed for God’s protection and safety for Iran and its people.
