Actor and politician Vijay recently garnered immense attention after his wife of 27 years filed for divorce. Soon after reports of their separation over Vijay’s infidelity claims surfaced on social media, his son director Jason Sanjay allegedly unfollowed him on social media.

Jason's move not only turned attention towards ongoing tensions in Vijay’s family, but some even interpreted it as a sign of support for his mother.

On the other hand, many social media users argued that the 25-year-old may never have followed Vijay's account in the first place as he was connected to a limited number of people on social media.

According to news agency ANI, Tamil star Vijay’s wife Sankgeetha recently approached the Chengalpattu family court to seek a divorce from the actor, alleging adultery. The sudden public revelation has sent shockwaves across both his film and political circles.

Sankgeetha’s divorce petition accuses the Jana Nayaganactor of having an ‘adulterous relationship’ with an actress, which she discovered in April 2021. She claims that this has caused her significant emotional pain and betrayal. She also added that his ongoing relationship with the actress has caused her further distress and embarrassment to their children. The petition also says that she was compelled to live separately within their marital home due to emotional hostility and desertion by Vijay.

Vijay married Sankgeetha Sornalingam in 1999. The couple has two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya. He has a glorious career spanning more than 30 years. Having appeared in 69 films, he ranks among India’s highest-paid actors.

Beyond cinema, he also launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, after stepping away from films, building a strong public and fan presence across Tamil Nadu.
