Nearly a decade after the late actress Sridevi ’s powerful performance in ‘Mom’, plans for its sequel have officially moved into production. Producer Boney Kapoor had earlier revealed his intention to continue the story, with daughter Khushi Kapoor expected to play a key role. The project has now commenced shooting in Noida’s Film City, marking a significant step forward for the long-awaited follow-up. Fresh details about the cast and crew have also begun to emerge.

He revealed that actors Jisshu Sengupta and Karishma Tanna are actively shooting for the project. The film is being directed by Girish Kohli, who previously wrote the original installment, ensuring creative continuity. "The shooting of the film Mom 2 is going on here. The director is Girish Kohli, who was the writer of Mom 1. We have technicians from different places; we have an actor from Bengal, Jisshu, and have a television actor, Karishma Tanna, who is also playing a very important part in the film," he said.
