Avinash Singh, a 25-year-old from Azamgarh, has successfully established a chain of digital libraries with the support of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM YUVA) in Uttar Pradesh. Designed to promote youth entrepreneurship, the scheme provides financial assistance to aspiring young business owners, and Avinash’s journey reflects the tangible impact of such support.

Coming from a modest farming family with five siblings, Avinash took on the financial responsibilities of his household as the eldest child. He completed a BSc in Mathematics from Allahabad University and, rather than pursuing traditional employment, decided to explore entrepreneurship as a sustainable path forward.

In January 2025, Avinash discovered the CM YUVA scheme online and subsequently approached the District Industries Centre to submit the necessary application documents. With guidance from officials, his application was approved, and by February 2025, he was sanctioned a loan of ₹5 lakh from the State Bank of India. Notably, the loan was provided without any collateral, with an initial installment of ₹2.57 lakh followed by ₹1.53 lakh a week later, along with interest rate concessions under the scheme.

Using this funding, Avinash founded the ‘Vidya Digital Library’ in Azamgarh. The library offers students access to online study resources in a technologically equipped and quiet environment. The initiative has been well-received locally, generating a monthly income of over ₹30,000 for Avinash, and he consistently repays a monthly installment exceeding ₹10,000.

Encouraged by this early success, Avinash has opened a second branch in Azamgarh and is preparing to launch a third location in Prayagraj later this year. His experience highlights how structured government schemes, combined with determination and planning, can enable young individuals to not only improve their financial situation but also create employment opportunities for others.

Avinash emphasizes that youth can achieve self-reliance by taking advantage of such programs and making informed choices about business opportunities. His story underscores the potential of targeted entrepreneurship initiatives to foster skill development, financial independence, and community-oriented enterprises in smaller towns.
