AI Spam Detection: Mobile users in India have been facing the problem of spam calls and fake messages for a long time. Sometimes the lure of a loan and sometimes the lure of winning a prize, such messages cause financial loss to people. Now to curb this problem Airtel And Google Has made a big alliance. Under this partnership, RCS messaging will be strengthened with AI-powered security. The special thing is that Android users will get this facility through Google Messages app.

Double power of AI and network intelligence

  • Airtel is linking its telecom network intelligence with Google’s RCS platform. This will make the messaging system more secure than before.
  • AI based spam detection tools will be directly embedded into the RCS framework, which will screen business messages in real-time.
  • This will strengthen sender authentication and suspicious links or fraudulent messages will be filtered beforehand.
  • Users will continue to get features like high-res photo-video sharing, typing indicator and read receipts as before, but now with additional security.

71 billion spam calls blocked, now it’s the turn of messages

Airtel claims that its AI anti-spam system has blocked 71 billion spam calls and 2.9 billion spam SMS in the last 18 months. According to the company, these steps have reduced financial losses reported on the network by 68.7 percent. The new RCS system will come with multi-layer security. This will include telecom-backed verification of business senders, adherence to Do Not Disturb rules and clear identification of promotional and transactional messages. Suspicious links will also be filtered through a multi-layer threat detection system.

Digital India will get a strong security cover

Both companies say that this partnership shows that telecom operators and tech platforms together can take user security to new heights. The move is a major effort to provide a more reliable system, compared to OTT messaging apps, where telecom-grade security standards are not implemented. The initiative aims to make RCS messaging in India secure and reliable, so that users can better avoid fake offers, scam links and spam business messages. In the coming time, this model may become the new standard for the security of digital communication.
