New Delhi: The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has now reached its decisive point. Now only two semi-finals and one final match are left in the tournament, after which the cricket world will get a new T20 champion. On one hand, the teams are striving for the title, on the other hand, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has surprised everyone with the prize money this time. This time the winning team will be given a record breaking amount of money.

ICC has set a huge prize pool of Rs 120.37 crore ($11.25 million) for this mega event. This is the largest prize money for any T20 World Cup so far. Whichever team will lift the trophy this time, it will not only be called world champion but will also become financially rich.

Champion will get more than 27 crores

According to the information, this time the team that wins the T20 World Cup title will get a huge amount of about Rs 27.42 crore ($2.45 million) as prize money. This is a huge leap over previous versions. This shows how much importance the ICC is giving to this shortest format of cricket. This tournament, which started with 20 teams, has now been reduced to just four teams, which include India, England, South Africa and Afghanistan.

Runner-up and semi-final teams will also get silver

The team which will reach the finals but misses out on winning the title also need not be disappointed. The runner-up team that loses in the final will be given approximately Rs 14.65 crore ($1.28 million).

Apart from this, the four teams that reached the semi-finals have also been taken into consideration. The two teams which will be eliminated after losing in the semi-finals will also get a huge amount. Each losing semi-finalist team will be given a prize money of Rs 7.24 crore ($7,87,500).

There is big money for other teams also

ICC has taken care not only of the top-4 teams but also of other teams participating in the tournament.

  • Teams out of Super-8: Teams that reached the Super-8 stage but did not make it to the semi-finals (ranked 5th to 8th), will be given Rs 3.48 crore.
  • Teams from 9th to 12th place: These teams will get Rs 2.22 crore.
  • Teams from 13th to 20th place: The teams eliminated in the first round will also be given Rs 2.09 crore.
