LBC host Tom Swarbrick paused an interview live on air after Will Bailey, who is currently stuck in Dubai, appeared shaken and turned around after hearing loud noises during the interview. Will had been telling the host that there were "quite a lot of jets" flying over him during the interview and he said it was "rather unsettling" while he was outside. While he was telling the host that he had landed on Saturday morning, he cut off as he said "woke up" and immediately turned around.
The host asked him if he was alright, continuing: "Did something just go thud in the background?" Will stuttered paused for a moment before telling Tom that he's "very on edge". Tom said that while they couldn't hear as well as Will could, if he needed to go inside to make himself safe he was encouraged to do so.
Will explained that some people weren't taking it seriously, but he said that earlier that week he had been at a beach club opposite the hotel that had been hit by a drone. He said: "We were 40-50 metres away, if we'd set off a minute earlier we'd have been at the taxi rank that the drone hit.
"The five of us that are here that moved slightly out of the city are slightly more panicky and on edge, like I'm shaking." Will, who has 124,000 followers, had also shared the clip to his Instagram as his followers sent him well-wishes and asked for continued updates.
He's been sharing updates since the incidents took place, encouraging people to "stay safe" as more strikes emerged, with Will writing in a post that he "just wants this to end".
There is an influx of Brits stranded in Dubai from people who reside overseas to people who were away on holiday at the popular tourist location. There have been airspace closures which has now made it impossible for Brits to return home due to safety concerns.
It has been reported that evacuation plans are being discussed but they haven't been confirmed just yet, with Brits currently waiting on additional updates about their exit. Vicky Pattison is one of the many people currently stranded in Dubai, with the former Strictly star taking to Instagram to issue an update as she declared that she and her husband Ercan were trying to stay positive while they waited on news.
