Themost in-demand jobsfor 2026 have been revealed, with some of them paying over £60,000. Jobs on the list are based on the largest increase in job postings.
The data comes from the job site Indeed, which has annualised all hourly wages to calculate an average annual salary for a full-time position. Jobs on the list have differed from last year,when a school teacher took the top spot as the most in-demand.
In 2025, job adverts for school teachers saw a 245% increase in share of jobs posted due to teacher shortages in England in most secondary subjects.
Property solicitors were second on the list with an 111% increase, followed by commercial director roles, which had gone up 108% in demand.
The job with the top salary average salary on last year's list was a paediatrician, with vacancies rising by 91% and an average salary of £106,048 a year. The average salary for the roles featured on the list are above £37,430.

However, in 2026 things are looking very different. Topping the list is a Pilates instructor, which comes with the huge rise in popularity of the exercise.
Pilates studios have popped up across the UK in recent years, with the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Kate Hudson, and David Beckham all loving it.
Plus, you can get good money as the average wage for a Pilates instructor is £54.644 according to Indeed.
A principal software engineer is the second most in-demand for this year, and is the highest paying position on the list. The wages come in at an average of £68,461.
It is followed by traffic manager and school principal roles.
