Suryakumar Yadav on Sanju Samson: Indian star wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson will long remember the match-winning innings of 97 runs played by Indian star wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson in the do-or-die match for Team India against West Indies. In the last match of Super-8, when Team India was slowly faltering while chasing the target of 196 runs, Sanju Samson stood at one end and returned unbeaten after taking Team India to the semi-finals, after which Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Sanju Samson a lot.
BCCI has shared a video on social media, in which Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav is seen praising Sanju Samson after the end of the match. Sanju is also standing next to him and listening to him.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “I always say that good things happen to good people and at the right time. There could not have been a better platform and time than this for anyone to do what the team needs. We have seen a lot of ups and downs in life. I do not want to take you into the story of the entire year.”
Indian captain Surya further said that it is not easy to perform like this on the stage of T20 World Cup. The way Sanju Samson managed one end and ensured victory in a match with more pressure than a bilateral series deserves praise. During this, Sanju standing next to Surya was silent and was looking at him, then Surya wanted to say something else, then Sanju Samson said in a funny manner, “Will you make the fool cry?”, after which both of them started laughing.
