In view of the festival of Holi, Gwalior Police has made elaborate security arrangements. SP Dharamveer Singh has directed all the station in-charges to keep a close watch on the anti-social elements creating ruckus on the roads, driving dangerous vehicles, brawling and driving fast vehicles. The SP has given instructions to deploy adequate number of police forces to maintain peace and order in the district.
On the occasion of Holi, police personnel are currently deployed on the streets of Gwalior city equipped with safety equipment. To control the traffic, SP has fielded traffic policemen equipped with shoulder blinker lights, body worn cameras, light batons, recording PA system. SP Dharamveer Singh and Additional SP Anu Beniwal distributed this kit to the police personnel last evening.
SP has said that during Holi, a large number of police forces will be deployed in the district, which will be equipped with full resources and will perform duty with sensitivity and vigilance. The police force will be fully prepared with drill drill material and necessary resources to deal with any untoward situation. He directed the station in-charges to ensure that DJ operations are conducted as per the prescribed time and noise limit. Special attention should be paid to maintaining the dignity of religious places and sensitive places, it should be ensured that religious sentiments of any section are not hurt during festivals. To maintain communal harmony, police officers were directed to organize peace committee meetings and establish coordination with distinguished citizens and organizers. In sensitive areas, fixed pickets, continuous patrolling and review of previous disputes should be done and action should be taken as per requirement.
In the meeting, the SP directed the police station in-charges to identify those who indulge in intoxication, create ruckus, fight and quarrel and effective action will be taken by keeping strict vigil. Do special checking and patrolling in areas where there have been more complaints of fights or alcoholism in the past. In order to make the traffic management effective, the police distributed reflector jackets, body worn cameras, light batons, recording PA system, shoulder blinker lights and other necessary gadgets. SP said that the installation of soldered blinker lights by traffic police personnel during VIP duty, traffic management and highway duty will increase the sense of security among the common people.
