Recently released video by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has brought back into focus Bill Clinton's previous connections with Jeffrey Epstein. The deposition, which took place behind closed doors last week, featured the former president being questioned about his travels on Epstein's private jet, his memories of those journeys, and the photographs that have circulated widely. One particular exchange has gained significant traction online. When asked if he witnessed any inappropriate behavior during the flights, Clinton replied, “I never saw anybody do anything wrong… I thought they were flight attendants.” This statement, widely shared on social media, has reignited interest in his testimony.
During the questioning, Clinton was also confronted with a photo that seemed to depict him receiving a neck or back massage while seated. He explained that he had experienced a neck spasm and a woman on the flight had offered to assist him. He stated, “My neck had spasmed… they offered to help, and I let them help,” while stressing that he did not partake in any sexual activities during the flights. He further asserted that, to his knowledge, he did not see any underage individuals on the aircraft, adding, “If there was and I knew it, I would be uncomfortable.” Importantly, neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton has faced accusations of criminal wrongdoing related to Epstein's activities.
Clinton recounted that he was first introduced to Epstein around 2001 or 2002 by former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers. He noted that Epstein had offered the use of his aircraft for charitable endeavors associated with the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative. Clinton admitted to taking several trips on Epstein's jet between 2002 and 2003, which included destinations in Asia, Africa, and Europe. He mentioned that their relationship diminished once he had access to other transportation options through different donors. When asked about campaign donations that might be linked to Epstein, both Clintons claimed they were unaware of any specific contributions at that time.
In another part of the deposition, Clinton recalled a conversation where Donald Trump mentioned having a “falling out” with Epstein over a property dispute. Clinton stated that Trump “did know him well.” The White House has reiterated that Trump cut ties with Epstein years before Epstein's 2019 arrest and has not been implicated in any misconduct related to Epstein.
