Emmerdale recently broadcasted distressing scenes as Arthur Thomas unintentionally shoved his mum Laurel Thomas down the stairs.

Laurel had recently embarked on a relationship with Ray Walters, oblivious to his ominous profession. Drug dealer Ray had been manipulating young villagers April Windsor and Dylan Penders, as well as holding Bear Wolf hostage in a disturbing modern slavery plot.

Earlier this year, Bear killed Ray in self-defence when he tried to murder his son Paddy Dingle and Dylan, with Laurel uncovering the grim reality about her boyfriend.

In the meantime, Laurel's son, Arthur, found Ray's backpack filled with money and drugs, keeping it hidden with plans to use the cash himself.

Upon discovering the items, Laurel discarded the drugs and handed the money to April's family, who had been victimised by Ray for months, leaving Arthur fuming.

The situation deteriorated further when Arthur learned that Laurel attended Ray's funeral, causing the youngster to grow even more resentful towards his mother.

Laurel attempted to empathise with her son's difficulties, but it quickly escalated into a heated dispute, during which Arthur accidentally pushed Laurel down the stairs, resulting in her hitting her head and being rushed to hospital.

At the hospital, Laurel maintained her story that she lost consciousness and fell down the stairs. However, Nicola King was convinced there was more to the story as she consulted doctors for a medical explanation, leaving Arthur worried his secret might be revealed.

Since her discharge from hospital, Laurel has been feeling unwell and experiencing bouts of dizziness, causing concern for her stepdaughter Gabby Thomas and local GP Manpreet Sharma.

Gabby has begun to suspect that Arthur may be behind the fall, despite Laurel's insistence that she must have tripped over some of her daughter Dotty's toys.

However, some soap fans believe there could be an alternative explanation for Laurel's symptoms and dizziness post-fall.

One viewer speculated on Twitter, now X: "I bet Laurel is pregnant with Rays baby. @emmerdale #Emmerdale", another user suggested: "#emmerdale dear god,is she pregnant" whilst a different fan pondered: "Wonder if Laurel is pregnant #Emmerdale."
