A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 has officially begun growing its cast, with three new actors joining the show.
According to a new report from THR, the Game of Thrones spin-off has added three new actors to the show. Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) will play Lady Rohanne of Coldmoat, also known as the Red Widow, Babou Ceesay (Alien: Earth) will play Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield, and Peter Mullan (Westworld) will play Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast in the Reach.
The trio of actors will join the returning Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell in the show. Following the massive hit that Season 1 was, Season 2 of the show will see Dunk and Egg “becoming entangled in a regional dispute during a summer drought in Westeros.” The second season will still be six episodes long, with showrunner Ira Parker saying the scope of the show will remain similar to Season 1.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is based on George R. R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novella. The short tale centers on Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and Aegon V Targaryen (Egg), set a hundred years before the events of the main series. The series is expected to run for six episodes.
“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros . . . a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg,” reads the series’ logline. “Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
