Apple has introduced a new affordable laptop MacBook Neo for its customers. This is the company’s new MacBook launched in the budget segment, which has a light and stylish design with modern features. This laptop has a 13-inch liquid retina display and is based on the company’s new A18 Pro chip.
The same chipset has also been used in the company’s flagship smartphones iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The new MacBook has a Magic Keyboard with multitouch trackpad and it also has Touch ID facility for security. The company claims that this laptop can provide about 16 hours of video streaming battery life on a single charge, which makes it suitable for long-term use.
Its starting price in India has been kept at Rs 69,900. This price is for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Whereas the price of the variant with 512GB storage has been fixed at Rs 79,900. The company has launched it in the market in four colors: Blush, Citrus, Indigo and Silver. The company has also made a special offer for students, under which they can buy it with an education discount of up to Rs 10,000. Pre-booking of this laptop has started and its sale will start from March 11 on the company’s official website and authorized retail stores.
In terms of performance, the company claims that this laptop can work about 50 percent faster than a Windows PC running on Intel Core Ultra 5 chip in many common tasks. In some AI based tasks, its speed is said to be up to three times better. It has 256GB and 512GB SSD storage options available with 8GB RAM. However RAM cannot be upgraded.
Talking about the display, it has a 13-inch Liquid Retina IPS panel, whose pixel density is 219ppi. This laptop runs on the company’s new macOS Tahoe operating system. For video calling, it has a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, which also has features like voice isolation and wide spectrum microphone mode. For audio, dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support and special audio feature is also available.
For connectivity, it has support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6. Besides, it also has two USB Type-C ports and a headphone jack. This laptop has a 36.5Wh battery, which can be charged with a 20W USB Type-C adapter. According to the company, once charged, this device can provide backup of web browsing for about 11 hours and video playback for 16 hours. Its weight is approximately 1.23 kg, due to which it can be easily carried anywhere.
