Hotel Inspector presenter Alex Polizzi has spoken frankly about the breakdown of her marriage to her former long-term partner.

The Channel 5 programme returned to television on Thursday evening (March 5) for a fresh episode, with Alex once again at the forefront to visit a struggling establishment in a bid to rescue the failing business.

In this week's edition, she travelled to The Navigator in Sussex, a coastal hotel now facing an uncertain future, with proprietor Kathleen overwhelmed by debt, persistent water damage and deteriorating accommodation.

Throughout the programme, Alex shared with Kathleen the challenges of operating a hotel, disclosing how it contributed to the collapse of her marriage to former husband Marcus Miller.

"I opened a hotel four years ago. It signalled the end of my marriage, I almost lost my mind and it's quite hard work" she openly confessed. Alex continued: "And I'm a professional.", reports the Mirror.

Alex was formerly married to Marcus Miller, a professional baker. The pair wed in 2007 following a 12-year engagement.

Together they share two children, teenagers Olga and Rocco. However, in 2025 Alex disclosed she had divorced the previous year, describing how she felt "bereft".

Speaking to Great British Life, Alex explained: "I have a 16 year old daughter and an 11 year old son and I got divorced last year and I felt so bereft, and that everything was on my shoulders, and yet their father is still alive."

Meanwhile, speaking to The Sun about why she chose to delay marrying Marcus, she revealed in 2017: "I still wanted to f*** around, if I'm honest! Who wants to get married at 22? I'm a much better wife than I was 10 years ago.

"Partly, you really realise that this is the person you're with for the rest of your life, so there's no point p****** them off."

Alex has also spoken openly over the years about her anguish following multiple miscarriages. The TV personality disclosed that after the birth of her first child, Olga, she experienced three miscarriages, including one that occurred just beyond five months into her pregnancy.

"It is just so shocking to find out that one's body lets them down in this way," she told MailOnline in 2013. Alex continued: "Once you've had a child, it seems unusual that one couldn't have another one. You're not expecting it, and it comes as such a wallop."
