Amit Shah Launches Major Development Initiatives in Odisha Worth ₹3,275 Crore

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah announced the launch of 199 developmental initiatives across various sectors, including police, health, and education, with a total investment of ₹3,275 crore in Odisha.


During his brief visit, Shah inaugurated 69 projects valued at ₹1,159 crore and laid the groundwork for 130 additional projects worth ₹2,116 crore, alongside Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.


In a post on X, CM Majhi expressed, "Today signifies a pivotal moment in Odisha's advancement and administrative reform. In the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Shri @AmitShah Ji, we inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects totaling ₹3,275 crore across the state, showcasing our shared dedication to fostering a stronger and more prosperous Odisha."




Among the notable projects inaugurated by Shah are 20 cyber police stations across various districts, a sulfuric acid facility by IFFCO in Paradip, 19 modern 'Atal bus stands', Common Service Centres (CSCs) for primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACS), and 141 marketing yards.


Additionally, a milk processing plant was inaugurated in Tangi, Khurda district, along with the transit campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), and the foundation stone for its permanent campus at Jatni.


The foundation for the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Bhubaneswar was also laid.


During the event, six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed for various projects, including the revival of the Baramba Cooperative Sugar Mill, the establishment of an ice cream plant in Cuttack, a school at Tribhuvan Sahkari University, and a branch of Rashtriya Raksha University.


The state government also entered into an MoU with IIT Bhubaneswar to enhance technology utilization within the home department.


The Chief Minister announced the introduction of the New Odisha Cooperative Policy-2026, making Odisha the first state in India to adopt such a policy.


With the launch of Shwet Kranti 2.0 (White Revolution 2.0) and the inauguration of a 30,000 LPD milk processing facility at Tangi, along with support under the Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana and 1,567 PACS-operated CSCs, the government aims to bolster the rural economy and empower farmers.


CM Majhi noted that the MoU for the revival of the Badamba Cooperative Sugar Mill will create new growth opportunities in the region.


Furthermore, 20 cyber police stations and 24 police stations were inaugurated, and the foundation was laid for the state's first Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) and the permanent campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).


He emphasized that these initiatives, along with the MoU with IIT Bhubaneswar, will greatly improve technology-driven governance and scientific investigation capabilities.


With advanced technology and skilled professionals, the investigative process will become more transparent and efficient, ensuring timely justice.
