British YouTuber KSI is set to produce a docuseries chronicling Dagenham & Redbridge following his acquisition of a minority shareholding in the sixth-tier side. The move mirrors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac's venture at Wrexham.

Arsenal fan KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, rose to prominence through the video-sharing platform and co-established the Sidemen group. His portfolio also extends to boxing, music production and serving as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Earlier this week, the 32-year-old confirmed his association with the National League South club. They're currently languishing in the lower reaches of the division following last season's relegation.

He acknowledged that guiding the club to the Premier League represents his ultimate ambition and he's determined to assist their ascent through the English football pyramid. Such aspirations echo Reynolds and Mac's Wrexham objectives and the parallels extend further.

KSI alongside the acclaimed After Party Studios have revealed plans for a 'Race To The Top' docuseries scheduled for release this summer on the YouTuber's channel. His subscriber base exceeds 17 million on the platform.

Similar to Reynolds and Mac's 'Welcome to Wrexham' series on Disney+, this programme will offer behind-the-scenes access to ownership and the club's daily operations.

The Wrexham documentary series made its debut in 2022, following Reynolds and Mac's takeover of the club in 2021, with the Welsh side now competing in the Championship having risen from the National League.

According to After Party Studios: "Cameras will track KSI as he takes the reins of the club, offering unprecedented access to the day-to-day trials and tribulations of running a non-league side in the modern football ecosystem, with boardroom meetings and fan reaction to contend with."

Following its initial summer broadcast, the series is set to run through to the 2026/27 campaign. Ben Doyle, who goes by the name RVBBERDUCK, will spearhead the production, having previously worked on KSI's documentary 'KSI: Can't Lose,' which followed his journey from online content creator to professional boxer.

KSI said: "This is a really big deal for me. For the fans who've been with me since 'Race to Division One,' it's a full-circle moment - from dreaming about football online to actually taking over a club.

"Reuniting with Ben and After Party Studios makes it even more special. He's captured every high and low, and I am so excited for him to board this rollercoaster of a journey at Dagenham and Redbridge with me."

Doyle added: "When KSI called me on a rainy Sunday morning last November and said he was buying a football club, I knew I had to be there to capture it. When we shot 'KSI: Can't Lose' back in 2018, I rolled the cameras as he redefined an entire sport.

"This feels like a true full circle moment as yet again we stand on the precipice of a seemingly insurmountable challenge. This series will see us get more access than ever before, during the highs and lows as he strives to get the Daggers to the Premier League."
