Aastha Jain’s journey to one of India’s most prestigious examinations reflects determination, discipline, and perseverance. Raised in a modest household in Uttar Pradesh, she has now secured an impressive All India Rank of 9 in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (UPSC), a milestone that places her among the country’s top achievers. According to a report by Bhaskar English, this was Aastha’s third attempt at the highly competitive exam, and it ultimately brought her closest to realizing her aspiration of becoming an Indian Administrative Service officer.
At the time of this achievement, Aastha was already undergoing training for the Indian Police Service (IPS) in Hyderabad. She temporarily stepped away from her training to prepare again for the civil services examination. With a strong commitment to her goal, she largely depended on independent learning and eventually reached this remarkable milestone.
Her ability to manage preparation through self-study played a significant role in her success. Even while juggling responsibilities and training commitments, she remained consistent with her studies and carefully structured her preparation strategy.
In a conversation with Bhaskar English, Ajay Kumar Jain explained that his daughter’s success was entirely the result of relentless effort and dedication. He also emphasised that he always ensured equal educational opportunities for all his children and made sure that his daughters never faced limitations in their studies.
The family’s academic orientation is reflected in the achievements of the siblings as well. Aastha’s elder sister works as a doctor, while her younger sister is currently studying for an Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.
She later completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Delhi. Throughout her college years, she continued preparing for the UPSC examination by combining coaching, independent study, and online learning.
