In an exciting encounter at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, Gokulam Kerala FC and Namdhari Sports Academy ended their match in a 1-1 stalemate during the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 on Saturday. Thabiso Nelson Brown opened the scoring for Gokulam in the 33rd minute, but Seilenthang Lotjem equalized for Namdhari with a goal in the 73rd minute, marking both teams' second consecutive draw this season.

Gokulam Kerala's head coach, Derick Pereira, made two significant changes to his starting eleven, bringing in Thabiso Nelson Brown and Aman CK to bolster the attack, replacing Rahul Raju and John Kennedy Xavier Da Costa. Similarly, Namdhari's coach, Harpreet Singh, made adjustments by starting Niraj Kumar in goal instead of Nishan Singh and incorporating Karan Kumar Sharma into the defense in place of Balkaran Singh.

The match began with Gokulam Kerala asserting control, dominating possession for the first 20 minutes. Captain Francisco Perdomo Borges played a pivotal role in midfield, orchestrating the team's play. Although Namdhari maintained a solid defense, they struggled to capitalize on their opportunities in the attacking third.

Gokulam's pressure culminated in the 33rd minute when Borges delivered a superb assist to Brown, who finished brilliantly to give the home team a deserved lead. This goal prompted a spirited response from Namdhari, who increased their efforts towards the end of the first half but went into halftime trailing.

The second half saw a shift in momentum as Namdhari began to exploit the flanks effectively, putting pressure on Gokulam's defense. Harpreet Singh introduced Senegalese forward Abdoulaye Diallo to add urgency to the attack.

Namdhari's persistence paid off in the 73rd minute when Diallo assisted Seilenthang Lotjem, who calmly finished to level the score at 1-1.

In search of a late winner, Gokulam's Pereira made a substitution in the 85th minute, bringing on Rishad for Mirjalol Kasimov.

With six minutes of added time, both teams pressed hard for a decisive goal. Despite the frantic pace and numerous chances, neither side could find the back of the net, resulting in a draw.
