Nowadays, Aadhar card has become an integral part of government services. If the mobile number entered in your Aadhaar is outdated, there may be a problem in OTP based verification. To solve this problem, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched the new Aadhaar app.
UIDAI’s new Aadhaar app facilitates users to change or update the number directly from their mobile without visiting the Aadhaar centre. After logging into the app, there will be an option to update the mobile number in the “Services” section.
To update the mobile number, users will have to pay a fee of Rs 75. It may take maximum 15 days to update the new number. During this time, users will have to verify by sending OTP to the new number.
OTP verification and face authentication have been used for security in the number update process. This ensures that changes can be made only by the genuine Aadhaar holder.
Most Aadhaar services use OTP based verification. If you have an old or closed number registered in your Aadhaar, you will not be able to avail many essential services. Therefore, it is very important to update the mobile number on time.
