At the same time, the level of foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan has recently come down to around 21 billion dollars. If Pakistan directly gets involved in this regional conflict, its internal situation may become more unstable.
According to a joint statement, this agreement, signed in September last year, is based on the historical partnership between the two countries and their shared strategic interests and close defense cooperation. It is said in the pact that any attack on any country will be considered an attack on both. According to an Associated Press report, Saudi Arabia has long maintained strong economic, religious and security ties with Pakistan, including helping finance the development of Islamabad's nuclear weapons program.
The statement said, “The purpose of this agreement is to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen joint deterrence against any attack.”
