If you’ve noticed more shiny new SUVs on your morning commute lately, you’re not imagining it. February 2026 turned out to be a historic month for Hyundai India. Despite February being the shortest month of the year, the carmaker clocked its highest-ever sales for this period, proving that the demand for well-built, tech-forward vehicles is stronger than ever.

The Star of the Show: Hyundai Creta It seems the love affair between Indian buyers and the Hyundai Creta is nowhere near over. Last month alone, 17,938 people brought home a new Creta (including the electric and N Line versions). What makes this car stay at the top year after year? It’s likely that “all-rounder” feel—it’s big enough for the family, smart enough for the tech-savvy, and now, with the electric version gaining traction, it’s ready for the future too.

The Supporting Cast: Venue and i20 While the Creta takes the spotlight, the rest of the family isn’t far behind. The Hyundai Venue continues to be a go-to choice for urban drivers, with over 10,494 units sold. Its compact size makes city parking a breeze, yet it doesn’t skimp on that “SUV feel” that everyone seems to want these days.

Interestingly, the i20 hatchback saw a massive 61% jump in popularity compared to last year. With more than 5,852 units sold, it proves there’s still a huge market for premium hatchbacks that offer a bit of flair and a lot of features.

Why the Surge? So, why are so many people heading to Hyundai showrooms? Part of it is the sheer variety. Whether you want a micro-SUV like the Exter (which sold about 4,200 units), a reliable sedan like the Auraor a premium EV, there’s something for every budget. Hyundai’s push to make “connected car technology” accessible not just in their luxury models but across the board is clearly resonating with modern Indian buyers.

A Look Ahead As the company nears its 30th anniversary in India, this momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down. With new facelifts on the horizon and a growing focus on Made-in-India exports, Hyundai is positioning itself as more than just a car brand—it’s becoming a staple of the Indian driveway.
