India made many records, achieved many achievements in Cricket T20 World Cup 2026, know the complete situation

New Delhi: India not only won the title by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, but also won the title by breaking many records recorded in the record books. India became the first team in the history of T20 to win this tournament thrice and during this period the Indian team also made many records. India had previously won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and 2024. Along with becoming the defending champion, India also became the first team to win the title twice in a row and the T20 World Cup on home soil.

According to the ICC website, the month-long tournament held in India and Sri Lanka witnessed many outstanding individual and team performances which made the competition exciting and many new records were also created. India’s score of 255/5 in the final is the highest score so far in a T20 World Cup final. The team also became the first team to score more than 250 runs in two consecutive matches after making 253/7 against England in the semi-finals. In the initial phase of the tournament, India had scored 256/4 against Zimbabwe, which is the highest team score of this World Cup. In the tournament, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan set the record for the highest run scorer in a single edition by scoring 383 runs.

Whereas India’s Sanju Samson played the highest individual innings of the T20 World Cup final by scoring 89 runs in the final and hit 24 sixes in the entire tournament. India’s Abhishek Sharma scored the fastest half-century of the tournament by scoring a half-century in 18 balls in the final. Whereas New Zealand’s Finn Allen scored the fastest century in T20 World Cup history by scoring a century in 33 balls. A total of 499 runs were scored in the semi-final between India and England, which was the highest run match in T20 World Cup history. India also made a record of becoming the first team to hit more than 100 sixes in a single T20 International competition by hitting 106 sixes in the entire tournament.
