When Ishan Kishan reached Bihar’s capital Patna for the first time after winning the T20 World Cup, the atmosphere of the capital looked no less than a celebration. As soon as he reached Patna, his supporters gave him a grand welcome with flowers and garlands and loud applause. Many fans tried to take selfies with him, while some youngsters even expressed their desire to celebrate by sitting on his shoulders.
On this occasion, Sports Minister of Bihar Government Shreyasi Singh also reached the airport. He honored Ishaan Kishan by presenting him a bouquet of flowers and said that Ishaan has brought glory not only to Bihar but to the entire country. The Minister said that Ishan Kishan is a big inspiration for the young players of the state and the government is making continuous efforts to nurture sports talents. While talking to the media, Ishan Kishan described Team India’s victory as a proud moment for the entire country. He said that winning the World Cup is every player’s dream. It is difficult to express in words the happiness that comes when this dream comes true. This victory belongs to all of us Indians.
He said that behind the success of the team is the hard work of the players, team spirit and the support of crores of fans of the country. Ishaan told that while coming on the field, every player has only one goal in his mind – to perform best for the country and win. Giving a message for the youth, Ishan Kishan said that if one plays with hard work, discipline and dedication, one can become recognized at the international level even from a small town or village. He said that today’s young players have better opportunities and resources, so they should keep trying to realize their dreams.
In response to a question asked on a statement by former cricketer Kirti Azad, Ishan Kishan gave a restrained response. He said that he does not want to comment on such controversial issues. He said that his entire focus is only on cricket and he wants to focus on performing better for Team India. Ishan Kishan further said that in the coming matches also, the aim of Team India will be to perform well continuously and lead the country to victory.
He said that at the individual level, his endeavor will be to score runs continuously and contribute significantly to the team’s victory.
