Subrahmanya: A disruption in gas supply reported in the country has affected the operations at the renowned Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, leading to changes in the breakfast served to devotees.

According to temple authorities, from Wednesday, March 11, the regular breakfast menu has been altered due to the interruption in gas supply. The temple usually serves a variety of cooked breakfast items to devotees every morning. However, because of the shortage of cooking gas, the temple has temporarily begun distributing avalakki (flattened rice) and curd instead of cooked dishes.

Officials said the temple currently has sufficient gas stock for the next three days. If fresh supply is not received after that period, the temple may face operational difficulties.

Temple authorities have already written to the gas supply agency requesting the supply of 20 gas cylinders per day to ensure uninterrupted service.

Officials also stated that if the gas shortage continues, certain changes may be made to the afternoon prasada bhojana service as well. Any such changes will be announced officially by the temple administration.
