KRAFTON India has finalized a dual-partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings to integrate the IPL franchises into Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) ahead of the 2026 cricket season. The strategic collaboration, launching via the version 4.3 update on March 21, transitions the game into a digital fan engagement platform by introducing dedicated Points of Interest where players can interact with virtual representations of professional cricketers. By embedding team identities directly into the battleground through specialized "Photo Booth" mechanics and branded hardware, the developer aims to capture the intersection of mobile gaming and India's professional sports culture.

BGMI 4.3 Update and Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) collaboration is scheduled to debut on March 21 as part of the initial 4.3 rollout. Players will have access to the "Thala Legacy Set" outfit and a "Thala Monster Truck" vehicle skin. According to Seddharth Merrotra, Head of Business Development and Partnerships at KRAFTON India, the update introduces dedicated CSK Photo Booth Points of Interest (POIs) across the Erangel and Livik maps, marking the first time such a mechanic has been implemented in the game. KS Viswanathan, Managing Director of Chennai Super Kings, stated the move allows supporters to celebrate the team in a format where "the excitement of cricket meets the thrill of competitive gameplay".
