Banikhet - As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative focused on Sustainable Development, NHPC's Regional Office in Banikhet hosted a specialized medical camp in Gram Panchayat Goli, District Chamba, on March 19, 2026. This event received technical medical assistance from Medanta – The Medicity Hospital located in Gurugram.
The camp was officially inaugurated by Shri Rajil Vyas, Executive Director of NHPC Regional Office Banikhet, alongside Shri Amrik Kumar, Group General Manager (Civil), and Dr. Ranveer Singh Rathi, General Manager (Medical Services).
A key feature of the camp was the involvement of renowned doctors from Medanta Hospital, who specialized in cardiology, orthopedics, physiotherapy, and gastroenterology. They offered consultations and diagnostic services for various health issues, including heart conditions, bone and joint disorders, and digestive problems.
Patients attending the camp benefited from free blood tests and other essential diagnostic services. The Executive Director personally distributed necessary medications prescribed by the doctors, ensuring that all required medicines were provided at no cost.
This initiative underscores NHPC’s dedication to enhancing community health, highlighting the belief that a healthy community is vital for a progressive nation. By bringing specialized medical care to a remote area like Goli, NHPC aimed to deliver “doorstep medical services” to regions lacking adequate healthcare facilities.
At the end of the camp, the local Panchayat Pradhan and community members expressed their sincere appreciation to NHPC. They acknowledged that accessing specialist healthcare typically involves lengthy and expensive travel to urban centers, and NHPC’s initiative significantly reduced both time and costs while providing quality medical care directly to them. The community expressed hope for the continuation of such welfare initiatives in the future.
The success of the camp not only provided immediate health benefits but also promoted a message of health awareness in the area, reinforcing NHPC’s commitment as a socially responsible entity beyond its role as a power producer.
